Fixation of Pay as on 01.01.2006:
Old basic = 7500 ( in pre revised scale S-14 = 7500 – 250 – 12000)
Revised Pay Band = PB-2 = 9300-34800
Grade Pay = 4800
New Basic pay as on :
01.01.2006 = Old basic pay X 1.86 + Grade Pay = 7500 X 1.86 + 4800 = 18750
01.07.2006 = 18750 X 1.03 = 19313
01.07.2007= 19313 X 1.03 = 19892
01.07.2008 = 19892 X 1.03 = 20489
Transport allowance for A1 city from 01.09.2008= 1600
HRA for A1 city = 30 % of new basic from 01.09.2008 = 0.3 x 20489 = 6147
DA on new basic and transport allowance( but TA will be given from 1.09.2008) = revised DA is 16 % effective from 01.07.2008 = 0.16 X ( 20489 + 1600) = 3524
Total Emoluments from 01.09.2008 = New basic pay + TA + HRA + DA ( on new basic pay + TA) = 20489+1600+6147+3524
= Rs 31760
Total Revised Gross Pay from 01.09.2008 = Rs 31760.
Total Pre revised gross pay as on 01.08.2008
= old basic X 1.5 X 1.54( 7% additional DA will be effective from 01.07.08 in pre revised scale 47+ 7 = 54%) + TA + HRA + CCA = (7500X1.5 X 1.54)+ 400 + (0.3 X 7500 X1.5) + 300
= 17325 + 400 + 3375 + 300 = 21400
Gross pre revised Pay as on 01. 08. 2008 = 21400
Absolute hike in gross salary = Gross revised salary – gross pre revised salary = 31760 – 21400 = 10360
Percentage (%) hike in Gross salary = (10360/21400 ) X 100 = 42 %

Notes:
1. It is assumed that he has not got any promotion between 01.01.2006 to 01.09.2008. If one got promotion between 01.01.2006 and 01.09.2008, one additional increment of 3% of new basic pay will be given plus his revised grade pay after promotion will be added for calculating new basic pay. In above sample calculation, if someone got promotion in 01.08.2007 from pre revised scale S-14 (= 7500 – 250 – 12000) to S-15 scale (8000 – 275 – 13500), this scale is now upgraded in PB-3 ( 15600 – 39100) with grade pay 5400.
Therefore he will get one additional ancrement on 01.08.2007
New Basic pay as on
01.08.2007 = 19892 X 1.03 + 5400 ( new grade pay) – 4800 (old grade pay) = 21089
01.07.2008 = 21089 x 1.03 = 21721
Remaining calculation for TA, HRA and Da will remain as it is.
2. He is staying in Class A-1 city.
3. He is not using official transport, therefore eligible for transport allowance.
4. Revised Da will be effective 2% from 01.07.2006, 6% from 01.01.2007, 9% from 01.07.2007, 12 % from 01.01.2008 and 16 % from 01.07.2008.

My wife is working in Railways as a an Head Typist. As on 01.01.2006 basic is 5000.00
She is in the scale of 4000-6000( as on 01.01.2006). She got the promotion in November’07 as an Head Typist (5000-8000) scale. Now the Present basic pay 01.08.2008 – 5450.00. She has residing in the Rly. allotted quarter. Increment date November every year.
Now, in which scale and grade pay she may be from 01.09.2008. What is she’s gross pay and how much she will get the arrear and what is the new basic & grade pay.

THE UNJUSTIFIED REDUCTION IN THE PERCENTAGE OF DEARNESS ALLOWANCE WITH EFFECT FROM 1-1-2006!
Dear Readers!
The Present Percentage of DA is as follows.
From 1-1-2006- 24%
From 1-7-2006-29% [5%]
From 1-1-2007-35% [6%]
From 1-7-2007-41% [6%]
From 1-1-2008-47% [6%]
From 1-7-2008-55% [8%]
The Proposed Percentage of DA by the 6TH Pay Commission is as follows.
From 1-1-2006-No DA
From 1-7-2006-2%
From 1-1-2007-6% [4%]
From 1-7-2007-9% [3%]
From 1-1-2008-12%[3%]
It can be seen that from 1-7-2006, the Percentage is reduced by 60%,from 1-1-2007 by 33.33%,from 1-7-2007 by 50% and from 1-1-2008 by 50%.It is stated that the Proposed Percentage from 1-7-2008 is 12% [4%]
At first, the Government propagated that there will be 40 to 50% increase.Then it modified it as 28% increase.Now it says that there will be an average increase of 21%.
According to the available information, the increase expected will be only around 20%.
So, the reduction of the Percentage of DA ranging from 33.33% to 60% is wholly unjustified. Justice demands only a reduction of 20% from the existing DA.
So, the Proposed Percentage of DA on the New Scales of Pay should be as follows.
From 1-7-2006- 4%, from 1-1-2007-5%, from 1-7-2007-5%, from 1-1-2008-5% and from 1-7-2008- 6.5%. So, the total percentage of DA as on 1-7-2008 should be 25.5% and not 16% as propagated.
Will the Central Govt look into this and do justice?

I had a Basic Pay of Rs.6500/- as on 01.01.06 & Rs.6800/- as on 01.02.06 in the old Pay Scale of Rs.5000-150-8000/-. I work in Railways. My increment month is February every year. I have got last promotion in this Scale in 1992. On 1st Jan 06, i had a pay scale of 6500-200-10500 with 10 increments. I was promoted in July 06 to the scale of 7500-240-12000 along with the next increment. I would want to know what my pay and my arrears would be, as there is some confusion while calculating the same using the calculator provided.

I am working as Technical Officer(Storage & Research) in Ministry of Food, Consumers affairs and Public distribution. I joined service as Technical Assistant on 1.6.1979 in the pre revised pay scale of 425-700. Later on 8.4.1992. I got recruited by UPSC as Technical officer(S&R). I got my first ACP in April 2004 to the revised scale of 8000-275-13500 ie after 12 years of my service in the post of Technical officer. Hence I lost my first 11 1/2 years of my service as TA. Now as per the Sixth CPC, 3 ACPs have been recommended after 10th,20th & 30th years of service. Hence I may please be advised as to when my next ACP will be due. My date of supernnuation is 31.6.2015

My basic on 1.1.2006 was Rs.6050/-. I got promotion as Office Superintendent on 28.2.2006 and my pay was fixed at Rs.6350/-. I became Inspector of Income tax on 29.8.2006 and my pay was fixed at Rs. 6700/-. /-.I got two increments for passing my departmental examination for promotion to Income-tax Officer and pay became Rs.7100/- w.e.f 1.9.2006 and inrement on 1.8.2007 Rs. 7300/- and from 1.8.2008 Rs.7500/-.pl tell my fixed salary on 1.9.2008.

I am an Assitant Sub Inspector in the scale of pay Rs.4000-6000. My basic was Rs.5300 in the said scale as on 1.1.2006. The commission has modified the pay scale 4000-100-6000 with 4500-125-7000. Which pay band will be applicable for this scale of pay and what will be my basic pay as on 1.1.2006 as per recommendation of 6th Pay Commission.

I fail to understand, Mr.Tarun,how all these accounts Giants claim that there had been increase of 20% to 40% of the emoluments as per revised scales of S.P.C. Yes! Basic Pay has increased but there had been ultra-microscopic increase in total emoluments in those cases who were at yhe terminal phase of their scale.Can you (Mr. Tarun ) throw some light on this financial enigma.

MY Basic is as on 1st.January2006 Rs.6500/-In the Grade 6500-200-10500.
Igot promotion in the monthof October 2007.inthe grade of 800-275-13500.
I was fixed in the month of October 2008 Rs.8000/- and my basic is fixed in the month of April 2008 was Rs. 8550. So kindly give me the full fixation of my basic and other allowances and also I am not using any govt. Transport& quarters .I am a physically handicapped person kindly give me suitable calculators and do the needful.

I was working as Research Officer (Rs.8000-275-13500) in NATMO Govt. of India Deparment of Science Technology, my pay was Rs. 12400 as on 01.01.06 with next date of increment on 01.03.06 promoted to garde of deputy Director (scale of pay 10000-15200) 17th March 2008. While fixing my pay the administration has fixed my as Rs. 23070+5400=Rs. 28470 and on the date of my promotion i.e. 17.03.08 they have added only the difference of grade pay i.e.Rs. 1200 and no incentive for promotion has been given while fixing my pay in the higher grade.
kindly inform me whether this fixation is correct.

Dear sir, Your website is excellent.I am working as TGT in Delhi adm school.Ihave been promoted to TGT in 5500-175-9000 on 1.4.08 from MCD as primary teacher(4500-125-7000. My basic in MCD was Rs.5625 on 31.3.08.Please let me know about the pay fixation after my promotion on 1.4.08.
Also after the sixth pay com ,what will be my basic and gross salary?

Sir,
I am working as a Technical Officer T-6 in CIFE of ICAR group ‘A’ catagery in the pay scale of 8,000-275-13500. My present basic as on 1.1.06 at 8275, my incriment month July, please fix my pay as per 6th cpc revised pay scales with pay band.(Attached list of ICAR POSTS CADER VISE, my pay scale in group ‘A’ in the list of No. 25)
